Ganuza Ledger

Bookkeeping for small businesses and independent healthcare practices in southern Maine.

I keep your books current and reconciled, close them every month, and hand your tax preparer a clean file at year end. If your books are behind, start with a call — no charge, and you're not committing to anything.

Two ways this usually starts

Ongoing

Monthly bookkeeping

Your books stay current instead of becoming next year's problem.

  • Transactions categorized from your bank and card feeds
  • Accounts reconciled to the statements every month
  • Monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet
  • An open items list, so nothing gets guessed at
  • Year-end handoff to your tax preparer

One-time project

Cleanup & catch-up

Books that are months or years behind, or that stopped matching reality.

  • Prior periods rebuilt and reconciled
  • Personal and business activity separated
  • Chart of accounts put back in order
  • A written record of what changed and why
  • Quoted as a project, with an hours cap agreed up front
How cleanup works

Cleanup projects usually roll into monthly service. Monthly clients don't need cleanups.

Who this is for

Independent healthcare practices are the specialty: dental, physical therapy, chiropractic, optometry, mental health, small family medicine. Usually one to six providers, with billing running through a practice management system that never quite lines up with the books.

I also work with general small businesses across York & Cumberland counties, Maine: trades, service businesses, small retail. If you run something and the books are behind, that's a fit.

I came to bookkeeping from inside healthcare, not the other way around. I know what a clearinghouse does, why billed charges and collections are two different numbers, and why your receivables live in the practice management system rather than in QuickBooks.

How it works

01

A free consult

We talk through where your books stand, what's gone wrong, and what you actually need. No charge, and no obligation to hire me. If you're on QuickBooks Online, the next step is a look at the file itself — I'll send back a written summary of its condition and what it would take to fix.

02

Cleanup, if you need it

Quoted as a project, with an hours estimate and a cap agreed before I start. If it's going to run past the cap, we talk first. You won't open a surprise invoice.

03

Monthly close

Your books closed and reconciled every month, with statements by a date we set. Every client has a set day each week when I work their file, so questions come up during the week instead of piling up at month end.

I work inside your own QuickBooks file, under accountant access you grant and can revoke at any time. The file is yours and it stays yours. Where records fall under health privacy rules, I'll sign a business associate agreement.
